Use the Ways of Working in practice and share with your network and workplaces

Everything the Institute does is guided by our Ways of Working (WoW). They are embodied practices that are informed by ancestral knowledges and cultural practices and protocols. The WoW form the process of how we engage with others and movement building, how we approach research and projects, and how we think through systems change.

In the Change Agenda, the WoW include questions to help guide how you think through each principle - how to understand, approach and use them in your work. We encourage you to use these questions to guide your learning before applying them in practice. We’ve also create a series of practices for you to use to further your engagement with each WoW. These practices can also be used as short activities with your family, team or workplace.

Engage the Institute to host a peacebuilding, ways of working and/or MEL workshop

Workshops are a great way to engage wider audiences in the work of First Nations gender justice and bring new perspectives, ways of working and activities into your work. The WYUT Institute team have hosted workshops for community organisations, government and private organisations, tailoring content to organisational needs to ensure teams get the most out of their learning and participating.

We’ve hosted workshops virtually, but we love coming together in-person outside the office and creating an immersive environment for learning. Workshops may look like:
• 1-2 hour lunch and learn
• Half or full day workshops with various different activities
• Camps on Country for full immersion into what peacebuilding means to us

Contact us on wyut@anu.edu.au to explore what workshops might look like for you.

Have ongoing conversations with WYUT

We want to create an open space for yarns and dialogue to share our learnings, learn from you and create a ripple effect of First Nations gender justice that goes beyond our immediate network. We also understand that we don’t yet have all the resources we’d like to create, such as how to use our Measurement, Evaluation and Learning Framework, or a manual for running Peacebuilding Camps. Instead of waiting until we develop these, we want you to be a part of the conversations. Email us and have a yarn.
