The Institute is made by you and for you. We aim to create tools and resources that support your journey, and your communities to be healthy, thriving and safe. We are in the process of creating ongoing tools, so watch this space!

First Nations women, girls and gender-diverse people carry the knowledge, leadership and lived experience to drive lasting systemic change — but they have never had a dedicated national mechanism to resource and sustain that work. The Wiyi Yani U Thangani Institute is that mechanism: Australia's first Institute dedicated to First Nations gender justice. We invite funders, philanthropic partners and organisations who share this vision to invest alongside us.

Partnership can take many forms, and we welcome conversations about what this looks like. Every contribution is a tangible way to invest in First Nations gender justice with impact that lasts well beyond any single event or project.

Research is one of the Institute's key functions to support the evidence-building of First Nations women, girls and gender-diverse peoples voices. We deeply value research that is voice and community lead, with our agenda shaped by and for First Nations women. Housed at ANU, the Institute draws on these academic resources, and position of influence to drive research forward that does not sit on a shelf, but is actively used by communities to drive meaningful change for First Nations gender justice.
